I’m only six workdays away from my (deserved) Christmas break; although I wish it started tomorrow morning… Soooo tired!
🕹️ I wish I really had all the available time I usually think I have when I buy games from Steam. Dwarf Fortress, Cogmind, Caverns of Qud… you all, please wait for me. I’ll be with you as soon as I can.
🕹️ Ok. I bought Dwarf Fortress on Steam tonight. I have the feeling this is going to make me fall in the endless vortex of gaming time (not that I’m complaining). But I had only 15 minutes to spend with it tonight and when I blinked, 45 of them had magically passed!
🎄And our Christmas tree is up. Little late and simpler than I would have wished , but it is the spirit that counts, right?
A micro.blog plugin idea (that I have no idea how to implement, though): as @rknightuk did with YouTube links, maybe have something in place that allows me to, once adding one of my own post’s link to a new post, convert that URL into a link to it. I’m thinking it could allow me to use Micro.blog not only as I already do and love, but also as a digital garden of sorts. That would be amazing.
📚 I started to use m.b’s bookshelves feature more often (and will slowly add more books to it, of course). One thing I’d like to see being added as a feature (although I can’t even imagine how complicated or not it could be to implement) is a way to reorder books in my shelves, or at least be able to add a read date to books so they can get ordered by it. What do you think? Is it possible, @manton, @jean, @help?
My personal view on Netflix’s Wednesday
📺 I have just finished watching Wednesday season 1 on Netflix, and although I’m suspicious to say, because I’m an Addams Family fan, cannot wait for season 2 to air later, sometime soon in 2023.
Not only has Jenna Ortega excelled in her role as Gomez’s and Mortitia’s daughter — and leading role —, but also the series, to my liking at least, had the perfect (dark) humor, thriller, horror and mystery mix. I know some people will say the series doesn’t live up to its first episode, but I have to disagree.
Wednesday has a very good balance in its plot, and lots of twists, also. For times it also resembles Harry Potter, Scooby Doo and even bloodier titles like Mr. Martin’s GoT series. It made me, my wife and son stick to the couch anxious for the next episode, and the next, and the next. We all here more than recommend it.
Give it a try and you won’t regret it.

Reading goal
📚 I’m one book away from completing my reading goal for 2022, consisting of 15 books. I’m already reading the 15th one but sometimes due to lack of time, I feel as if I won’t be able to accomplish it, and that would be the first time in like 5 or 6 years… are you guys so strict as I am in terms of achieving your personal reading goals?
A rainy, rainy day
I subscribed to Standard Notes last night but my subscription with them lasted less than 24 hours before me asking for a refund. I’ve always been curious about it and their super notes seemed to me the last thing necessary to finally spend money there. But, for me, in the end, it was no step up from apps I currently use, specially Logseq and Obsidian.
I love how Gluon and Metatext are mobile apps that respect us, users aged over 40. Some UIs are so small or have text so small that it renders usability impossible. I wish more devs think accessibility in the future :)

🍿 I’ve just watched Wednesday S01E01 on Netflix and I totally fell in love with it. Jenna Ortega totally nails it at the leading role, and everything — from the plot to the music — fits so well. I have always loved anything Addams Family related, and I feel this is going to be no exception!
